A home for the books, the stories behind them, and the work still taking shape.
For a long time, my writing lived almost entirely in documents on my computer or handwritten on paper.
That changed as the manuscripts grew, the projects multiplied, and I began submitting my work professionally. I wanted one place where readers, agents, publishers, media, friends, and anyone curious about the books could see what I was working on and where the stories were heading.
So this site became that place.
It brings together the different sides of my writing—science fiction, memoir, and nonfiction—and gives me somewhere to share not only finished work, but also the ideas, milestones, questions, and occasional surprises that happen while a book is still being built.

Beyond the Fold
BEYOND THE FOLD began with a survey mission to Haven, an apparently abandoned world filled with ancient cities, buried machinery, and a network capable of connecting worlds across impossible distances.
That first story grew into a larger universe of Roads, alliances, discoveries, conflict, and consequences. Four novels are complete, and work is now underway on ORIGINS OF THE FOLD, the fifth book in the series.

THE SILENCE WE BROKE is a standalone adult first-contact science-fiction thriller built around a secret humanity believed would remain buried forever.
A hidden American facility has held an alien survivor for forty years. When a distress signal finally reaches home, a rescue fleet arrives—and Earth is forced to answer for what happened in the dark, or face annihilation.
Memoir
Just One More Day
JUST ONE MORE DAY: A MEMOIR OF FALLING AND GETTING BACK UP follows a very different journey—from childhood and family, through business success, loss, addiction, homelessness, treatment, relapse, and the struggle to find a way back.
It is a story about falling farther than I believed possible, the people who continued reaching for me when I could not find my own way out, and what it took to begin rebuilding a life.

Okay… I’m Sober. Now What?
OKAY… I’M SOBER. NOW WHAT? turns toward what happens after treatment and early recovery—the part where surviving has to become living.
It follows the ordinary work of rebuilding: relationships, routines, responsibility, family, cravings, mistakes, humour, trust, purpose, and the small victories that slowly begin to resemble a life.
Why This Site Exists
Different stories. Similar questions.
Science fiction and memoir may seem like very different places to write from, but I keep finding myself drawn to some of the same questions.
What happens after everything changes? What do people do with responsibility they never expected to carry? How do we live with the consequences of the choices we’ve made? What makes someone keep moving when the easier choice would be to stop?
Sometimes those questions take place aboard a starship. Sometimes they happen in a four-hundred-and-fifty-square-foot apartment with groceries in the cupboard and a plant by the window.
Either way, they are the stories I seem to keep wanting to tell.
