From the Writing Desk
Newsletter
Books, works in progress, publishing news, recovery, and occasional notes from somewhere between this world and the ones I’m still creating.

A note from me to you.
There is always something happening at the writing desk.
Sometimes it is another journey through the Fold. Sometimes it is a new first-contact story taking shape. And sometimes the writing has nothing to do with distant worlds at all, but with recovery, family, rebuilding, and the strange experience of learning how to live differently.
This newsletter is where I’ll share some of that journey more directly—new books, works in progress, excerpts, publishing milestones, behind-the-scenes notes, and the occasional story that may not belong anywhere else.

What You’ll Find Here
Stories from both sides of the desk.
My writing tends to travel in two very different directions.
One leads toward distant worlds, ancient technology, first contact, exploration, and the consequences of opening doors that may have been closed for a reason.
The other stays much closer to home—recovery, relationships, purpose, humour, mistakes, and the ordinary work of putting a life back together.
The newsletter will make room for both.
What to Expect
Occasional. Personal. Worth opening.
I’m not interested in sending something simply because a calendar says it is Tuesday.
I’d rather send a newsletter when there is something genuinely worth sharing—a manuscript milestone, a new excerpt, an unexpected turn in a book, publishing news, or occasionally something from life that found its way onto the page.
Some editions may be about writing. Some may be about recovery. Some will probably start in one place and end up somewhere entirely different.
Newsletter Archive
Recent letters.
Newsletter editions will be archived here as they are published, so you can always catch up even if you missed one in your inbox.
Until the next one.
In the meantime, there are plenty of worlds—and a few very real stories—to explore.
